How to Initiate a Return
To begin a return, please email our Client Care team at purchase@valamdesign.com with:
- Your Order ID
- The reason for your return
- Your return shipping address
Once approved, we will issue a complimentary insured prepaid return label for U.S. orders or provide international return instructions based on your location and item value.
Return Eligibility
Returns for Refund
Eligible jewelry may be returned for a full refund within 14 days of the delivery date.
Exchanges
Exchanges are complimentary within 30 days of delivery. Exchanges are limited to the same product for size adjustments only (e.g., ring resizing).
Return Shipping
Domestic U.S. Orders
- Complimentary insured prepaid return label
- No restocking fees or hidden charges
International Orders
- Return labels are provided for a fee based on destination and item value
- Shipping label fees vary by country
- Taxes, duties, and import fees are non-refundable
- Returns must ship from the original delivery address to avoid additional duties or delays
- Customers are responsible for any duties incurred when returning items to the U.S.
Items Not Eligible for Return
The following are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Custom or personalized jewelry
- Diamonds specifically sourced for your order
- Semi-mounts or empty settings
- Custom-cut or made-to-order gemstones
- Items marked “Final Sale”
- Rush order service fees
Important Conditions
- Items must be returned in original, unworn, unused condition with all certificates, paperwork, and packaging.
- Removed or damaged tags/labels void return eligibility.
- Custom orders become non-refundable immediately upon order placement.
- Layaway or deposit orders follow the same 14-day refund / 30-day exchange window from delivery.
- Certified diamonds must include the original grading certificate. Missing certificates incur a $250 replacement fee.
- Complimentary ring sizers must be returned. A $75 fee will be deducted if not included.
- Once a ring has been resized (by Valam or any third party), it is no longer eligible for refund.
- Items altered or serviced by a third-party jeweler are not eligible for return.
- Each customer may complete one refund (14 days) or one exchange (30 days) within a 6-month period.
- Order cancellations or changes during production are considered returns and subject to this policy.
- The return window begins on the delivery date (including delayed delivery requests).
Handcrafted Nature of Our Jewelry
Every ring is meticulously handcrafted and hand-polished. Subtle characteristics or minor variations reflect the artistry of handmade craftsmanship and are not considered defects.
Each piece undergoes a rigorous quality control process, including microscopic inspection. If quality concerns arise, we are happy to re-inspect your piece. If the item meets our standards upon inspection, we reserve the right to decline the return or exchange.
Undelivered Shipments
Claims for undelivered packages must be submitted within 30 days of shipment. Claims made after this period are not guaranteed approval.
If delivery is missed and the carrier records a final delivery attempt, the return window begins on that date.
Orders uncollected for more than 4 months will be considered abandoned, and Valam will not be held liable.
Refund Processing
Once your return is received and inspected, refunds are processed within 10–14 business days to the original payment method.
You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been issued. Please allow up to one billing cycle for the refund to appear on your statement.
