Cancellation Policy

This Cancellation Policy applies to all consumer orders placed on valamdesign.com. It outlines our general cancellation terms while recognizing that additional consumer rights may apply depending on your jurisdiction. Where mandatory laws provide stronger rights, those laws will prevail.

1.2 How to Cancel

To request a cancellation, email purchase@valamdesign.com with:

  • Order number
  • Full name
  • Items to cancel
  • Reason for cancellation

The timestamp of your email will determine eligibility under the timelines below.

A cancellation is only confirmed once you receive written confirmation from us. If an order has already been dispatched or marked as “Ready to Ship,” cancellation before shipment may not be possible, subject to applicable legal rights.


1.3 General Cancellation Rights

Depending on your location, you may have a legal right to cancel your order within a specified period after receiving the goods, even without providing a reason.

  • Where such rights apply, you may cancel within the legally defined period from the day after delivery.
  • Refunds will be processed in accordance with applicable law, which may include reimbursement of standard delivery charges.
  • You may be required to return the goods in order to receive a refund.
  • A deduction may be made if the value of the goods is reduced due to handling beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

1.4 Pre-Shipment Cancellations (Discretionary Policy)

  • Cancellation requests may be accepted with a 100% refund.

These discretionary fees or deductions will not apply where prohibited by applicable law.


1.5 Non-Cancellable Items

The following items are generally not eligible for cancellation once confirmed:

  • Custom-made or made-to-order products
  • Personalized or engraved items
  • Products designed or modified to your specifications

In some jurisdictions, certain items may still qualify for cancellation depending on whether they are considered truly personalized.


1.6 Orders Already Dispatched

Orders that have already been shipped cannot be cancelled before delivery.

However, where applicable laws provide a post-delivery cancellation or return right, you may still exercise those rights after receiving the product, subject to the conditions of our Return & Refund Policy.


1.7 Fees and Refunds

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
  • Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
  • Where required by law, refunds will be issued within the legally mandated timeframe.
  • Any applicable shipping costs will be refunded only where required by law.

1.8 When Cancellation Is Not Possible

Cancellation may not be possible in the following cases:

  • Orders for custom or personalized products (subject to applicable legal rights)
  • Orders already prepared as “Ready to Ship”
  • Orders that have already been dispatched

1.9 Legal Compliance

This policy is intended to operate alongside applicable consumer protection laws.

If there is any conflict between this policy and mandatory legal rights in your jurisdiction, those legal rights will take precedence, and any conflicting provisions in this policy will not apply.
